Summary:
Our award-winning client is seeking a Lead HVAC Startup and Commissioning Technician to join their team.As a Lead HVAC Startup and Commissioning Technician, you will oversee the startup and commissioning of new HVAC systems. You will lead a team of technicians, ensuring that all systems meet operational standards and client expectations. Your expertise in DX systems, controls, and troubleshooting will be essential in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the commissioning, startup, and testing of DX systems, including package units ranging from 5-50 tons.
- Conduct pre-startup tasks, including reviewing design drawings and assessing materials.
- Perform in-depth checks on system components, both pre- and post-energization.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues during commissioning or quality control processes.
- Provide technical support to operators and clients throughout the installation, startup, and operational phases.
- Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for testing and commissioning.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operation of systems.
- Occasionally travel to job sites for new system startups and final acceptance testing.
- Maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with DX systems, including commissioning and startup processes.
- Expertise in system charging, subcooling, superheat, compressor technologies, and scroll compressors.
- Proficiency in controls, PLCs, and stop control boards.
- EPA Universal Certification and a high school diploma.
- Certifications in standard evacuation processes.
- Experience working as an HVAC technician in commercial or industrial settings.
- Leadership experience with the ability to guide teams and develop operational efficiencies.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as NATE Certification, HVAC Excellence Certification, or R-410A Certification.
