A leading pharmaceutical research and development company are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Research Engineer to join a highly skilled team. As a Staff Research Engineer, you will play a crucial role in advancing drug discovery efforts by researching and developing LLM's, and integrating generative AI into the product portfolio.
Multimodal models are one key research area that are advancing drug discovery at an unprecedented rate. Prior experience in drug discovery is not required. We are looking for people with a very strong grounding in ML/DL, active in the participation of research into the current advances in GenAI.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research to advance the understanding and application of LLM's in drug discovery.
- Develop and optimize LLM models to generate novel molecular structures based on existing compounds and known drug properties.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify product requirements and develop innovative solutions.
- Implement and refine generative AI algorithms and techniques to enhance drug discovery processes.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in LLM research and generative AI and apply them to improve our products.
- Analyze and interpret complex data sets to extract meaningful insights and drive decision-making.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute research projects.
- Document research findings, methodologies, and experiments for internal and external dissemination.
- Contribute to the intellectual property portfolio of the company through patent filings and publications.
- Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance and support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D.in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field (Physics, Mathematics, etc.)
- Strong expertise in developing, scaling, and implementing LLM models.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
- Solid understanding of generative AI techniques, including GANs, VAEs, and reinforcement learning.
- Experience with deep learning frameworks and libraries, such as TensorFlow, Keras, and PyTorch.
- Proven track record of conducting research and delivering innovative solutions in a research or industry setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large datasets and complex algorithms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present research findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary team environment.
- Strong publication record and experience with patent filings is a plus.
