Jr. Business Analyst - Remote
Optomi, in partnership with a provider of insurance solutions, is currently seeking a motivated and skilled Business Analyst with experience in the insurance industry to join our team. As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive business, financial, and technical analysis related to the development, implementation, and support of business system applications. You will collaborate with end-users to analyze and enhance current processes, document requirements, and ensure the successful integration of new systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process Analysis: Work closely with end-users to review and analyze current processes, identifying areas for workflow improvements, efficiencies, and optimization.
- Requirements Documentation: Document system and end-user requirements to ensure software application development solutions align with business needs. Prepare business requirements for new systems and create or update functional design documentation for existing systems.
- Business Rules & Use Cases: Define and document business rules and use cases to guide development efforts.
- User Acceptance Testing: Conduct user acceptance testing of developed functionalities, ensuring all defined business requirements are met. Contribute to test plan and test case development.
- Training & Support: Train and support end-users (both internal and external) on new processes and systems. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of user guides and training materials.
- System Understanding: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of business system applications and interfaces to effectively support the organization’s needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in the insurance industry.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with process improvement methodologies.
- Proficient in documenting business and functional requirements, as well as creating use cases and business rules.
- Experience with user acceptance testing and test case development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and support end-users.
- Familiarity with business system applications and their integration into business units.
