Auto Property Damage Supervisor - Accelerated
We are currently seeking an Auto Physical Damage (PD) Supervisor to join our growing Personal Lines Auto team in our Boston, MA office.
The Accelerated PD Supervisor is responsible for managing, coaching and developing a Team of Claims Resolution Specialists accountable for the investigation, evaluation and disposition of low-to-mid complexity personal auto property damage claims as well as for providing an outstanding experience to our Customers and Agents while they go through the claims process. The Accelerated PD Supervisor will also be accountable for our FNOL support staff and assist with a trainee’s transition from our Learning and Development team to Accelerated. The Claims PD Supervisor is accountable for ensuring that his/her Team hits/exceeds the targets and expectations set for the broader PD Unit. What You’ll Do
- Manage a Team of Claims professional to ensure operational goals and targets are met while ensuring full compliance with the appropriate applicable regulations.
- Leverage performance metrics and reports to assess operational health of the team, identify opportunity/gaps and proactively develop action plans to address those.
- Carry out regular Quality Assurance reviews for all members of the team and effectively communicate and address gaps.
- Meet regularly with individual and collective team to provide guidance, feedback and coaching in an efficient and effective manner.
- Keep the team engaged, motivated and operating according to company standards.
- Effectively manage the phones to maximize availability and minimize wait times.
- Perform salary administration and performance evaluation of staff. Address and properly document performance issues, action plans and general developmental needs.
- Actively participates in the annual Objective setting process for the team.
- Make recommendations to management for promotions, staff size, staffing changes, salary administration. Likely to participate in the hiring of new employees.
- Resolve complaints from insureds, claimants, brokers, other claim personnel, etc., through active participation.
- Address inquiries from independent agents.
- Complete special projects as assigned by management.
Education You’ll Need
What You Need To Bring To the Table
- Prior experience in Auto Claims handling, familiarity with MA, NJ, NY, PA, CT and VT claims regulations is strongly preferred.
- Prior claims supervisory/management experience.
- Experience using a claims management and imaging system and Microsoft Office Suite products.
- Excellent communication, organizational and customer service skills.
- Demonstrated level of competency in time management, priority setting and customer focus.
- Passion for continuous improvement, coaching and developing others.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while keeping a positive and optimistic demeanor.
