Executive Summary: HRUCKUS seeks a Sr. SharePoint Developer for a Hybrid Assignment at the Maryland Judiciary Information Systems at 189 Harry S. Truman Parkway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
Depending upon project requirements, the candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. The candidate must also be available to provide on-call operational support as required outside business hours.
Position Description: Located in Annapolis, Maryland, the Judicial Information Systems (JIS) is comprised of eight business units, including the following: Case Management Systems, Systems Development and Integration, Enterprise Project Management, Technology Management, Information Security, Budget and Contracts, Customer Services, and Program Management.
This position will report directly to the Information Security Officer and support the information team's strategic goals and objectives. Under the guidance of the Information Security Officer, the position will receive direction from the Governance Risk and Compliance and Security Administration team managers and support staff.
Position Duties:
- Integration of SharePoint with Microsoft products and workflows. Development and support of existing and planned Microsoft SharePoint sites, strategies, frameworks, and standards.
- End-user support of SharePoint applications.
- Projects may include analysis, design, development, support, and user training for new and existing departmental SharePoint sites, as well as assistance in developing a wider strategy and framework for online communication and collaboration. The Successful candidate will provide senior-level project strategic planning and detailed technical development and training support for these and related projects as assigned.
- Support daily use of and enhancements to existing SharePoint sites.
- Analyze, design, develop, and document new SharePoint sites as needed.
- Assist in developing an enterprise strategy and framework for the ongoing use of SharePoint and the integration of SharePoint with other communication and collaboration vehicles.
- Ensure the creation and review of designated project deliverables.
- Provide demonstrations and training as needed during project development, testing, and deployment.
- Document code development and related workflows.
- Provide design, troubleshooting, and end user support of SharePoint applications.
- Provide management reporting as designated.
- End-user support tasks, including helping users resolve technical issues and providing guidance such as:
- Troubleshooting Issues (e.g., Diagnosing and fixing software problems reported by users).
- Account Management (e.g., Assisting with account setup, password resets, and access issues).
- User Training (e.g., Offering training sessions or resources on using software tools effectively).
- Documentation (e.g., Creating and maintaining user manuals, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides).
- Remote Support (e.g., Using remote desktop tools to resolve issues directly on the user’s machine).
- Feedback Collection (e.g., Gathering user feedback to improve services and support).
- Incident Reporting (e.g., Documenting issues and resolutions for future reference and analysis).
- Escalation (e.g., Identifying issues that require higher-level technical support and escalating them accordingly).
- System Monitoring (e.g., Monitoring system performance and user activity to preemptively address issues).
- Patch Management (e.g., Ensuring software and systems are up to date with the latest patches and updates).
- Onboarding Support (e.g., Assisting new users with their initial setup and orientation).
Position Skills, Experience, and Capabilities:
- Five (5) or more years of professional experience in SharePoint development and system administration
- Five (5) or more years of professional experience in Microsoft Power Apps integration, JavaScript, C#, SQL, and .NET frameworks
- Bachelor of Arts, or a Bachelor of Science, in Computer Science
- Professional experience with Supporting daily use of and enhancements to existing SharePoint sites
- Professional experience with Tracking the progress of assigned projects, identifying risk factors, developing risk mitigation plans, identifying issues, and facilitating appropriate forums for resolution
- Professional experience with the Development and support of Microsoft SharePoint
- Professional experience with Systems development methodologies and project management practices
- Ability to Communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, end users, and vendor development staff, as well as all levels of management and judicial personnel, as necessary
- Ability to Work effectively within a diverse IT organization
- Ability to Create and deliver project presentations to senior and executive Judiciary management as needed
- Ability to Assist with strategy and design of deliverables as needed
- Knowledge of Integrating database capabilities within the SharePoint environment, including developing a plan and framework
Work Arrangement:
- Work shall be performed in a hybrid setting each week, Monday through Friday, as follows:
- Two (2) days remote at a suitable off-site location selected by the successful candidate. The AOC reserves the right to determine whether an off-site location is unsuitable (e.g., a crowded public space with distracting background noise during meetings).
- Three (3) days on site at the Maryland Judiciary Information Systems, 189 Harry S Truman Parkway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
- On-site support may be required. As designated by the Judiciary’s Chief Technology Officer, the proposed resource(s) must be able to report on-site within twenty-four (24) hours after notification. If required, the Offeror Resource shall report to Maryland Judiciary Information Systems, 189 Harry S Truman Parkway, Annapolis, MD 21401. The AOC does not have a limit on the number of times the proposed resource(s) may be required to be onsite.
- The AOC reserves the right to regularly evaluate performance and withdraw remote privileges in case of a decline in Purchase Order performance.
- The AOC reserves the right to modify the allocation of onsite and remote work efforts throughout the life of the Purchase Order. In the event of a modification, the Contract Manager will coordinate with the Successful Offeror on a mutually agreeable allocation of work effort.
- If the successful candidate has a work allocation that includes remote work at any time during the life of the Purchase Order, they may not perform remote work from a country other than the United States of America without prior approval from the Contract Manager. Without extenuating circumstances, successful candidates shall not anticipate receiving approval for remote work from a country other than the United States of America.
- The successful candidate shall perform during regular operating hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Eastern Standard Time (EDT), and shall have the flexibility to extend coverage hours or schedule to meet deadlines, project requirements, and on-call operational support, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- The JIS Project Manager or Department/Senior Manager must approve work before or after regular operation hours, not to exceed 2,040 hours per year.
- A two (2) four (4) week training period will be provided to acclimate the successful resource(s) in the methods, processes, equipment, and software used by the Maryland Judiciary.
The target salary for this role is $110,000-$135,000.
