Locum Tenens Physician Opportunity Near Eielson AFB, AK Profession: Physician Specialty: Traumatic Brain Injury / General Medicine Start Date: ASAP - Ongoing
We are seeking dedicated physicians for a locum tenens position involving a combination of General Medicine and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) exams. This opportunity allows you to work on a PRN basis, providing flexibility and the chance to make a meaningful impact on patient care.
Position Details:
- Rate Type: Daily
- Emergency/Temp Privileges: No

- PRN - as needed basis
- Shifts TBD
- Half day is 4 hours or less
- Full day is 4-8 hours
Weekend Requirements:
- Able to work weekends, if desired/needed
On Call Requirements:
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform a mix of General Medicine and Traumatic Brain Injury exams.
- Conduct primarily interview-based evaluations with some physical assessments, including range of motion testing and muscle strength testing.
- Use a Goniometer for physical assessments.
- No prescribing or treatment involved.
- Complete and submit standardized forms (DBQs) within 48 hours of exam completion.
- Perform evaluations in the VES provider portal and review records as required.
Requirements:
- Certification: Must be Board Certified in any of the following specialties: Neurology, Neurosurgery, PM&R
- Experience: Familiarity with Musculoskeletal, Diabetes, and Cardio required
- Proficient in METs testing, evaluating, and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions.
- Must own a personal laptop (No Apple Laptops/MACs)
- Training: Provided for all Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs)
- DMA Certification: Available (can earn CME credits) - required once privileged if not already certified
Qualifications:
- Strong background in General Medicine or experience with TBI exams preferred.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Empathy and dedication to patient care.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
