Paladin is now LHH Recruitment Solutions! We are partnering with our Portland, OR financial client to recruit a Technical Writer to join their HR team on a contract basis into early 2025. This is an opportunity to leverage a background in HR content to help drive clarity, cohesion and consistency in HR policy and training content for internal staff. A good portion of this role will be focused on reviewing existing documentation and making significant edits to drive clarity and consistency in voice, but you will also leverage your knowledge of this space to ensure content is accurate. This is not an instructional design role, but instructional designers or content writers are encouraged to apply if comfortable focusing on the writing and editing side of this work. A working knowledge of HR policy, compliance documentation or similar is required, along with deep knowledge of MLA/AP formats and excellent cross-functional communication skills.
This is a primarily onsite role in Portland, OR, with some hybrid flexibility. You will work with a collaborative team of HR pros and content developers including instructional design, training and other content staff, and collaboration is crucial for success! Pay ranges from $40 to $46 an hour, depending on level of relevant experience. This is an urgent need, so there is a preference for candidates able to start quickly. This is an ongoing, full-time W2 contract set to last through EOY 2024, and likely into early 2025. You will:
- Partner with cross-function HR, content and training teams to review existing documentation for employee policies and similar, making significant edits to drive clarity and consistency in voice
- Leverage experience working with HR teams to clarify content and identify inaccuracies, opportunities for content improvements, and similar
- Provide feedback and insights to relevant teams to ensure the finished content is employee-ready
Your experience should include:
- 3+ years of technical writing, compliance content or instructional design experience
- Experience with HR and compliance content, best practices, etc.
- Expert editing skills and a comfort in a role that is more review that traditional content writing
- Deep knowledge of MLA and AP formats; Experience with Sharepoint, preferred
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
