Job Description:
Realbotix is seeking a skilled Technical Animator / Animation Artist with a strong artistic eye to enhance the realism of our robot's animations and expressions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in creating and refining animations and will work closely with the development team to bring lifelike qualities to our robotic avatar. Familiarity with robotic hardware and servo-controlled systems is highly desirable, as the role will involve ensuring seamless transitions between digital animations and physical robotic movements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, polish, and refine animations and expressions for our virtual avatar in Unity.
- Ensure animations translate effectively from the app to the physical robot, maintaining realism and fluidity.
- Collaborate with Unity developers and engineers to integrate animations into the app and robot control systems.
- Work closely with engineers during the hardware transition to ensure consistent animations.
- Provide artistic guidance to enhance the overall visual quality of the robot’s movements and expressions.
- Work on-site in our Las Vegas office to test and refine animations directly with the robot.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Animation, Fine Arts, Computer Graphics, or a related field.
- Strong experience with Unity and animation tools, particularly in character animation and expressions.
- Exceptional artistic skills with a focus on creating lifelike animations.
- Understanding of real-time animation implementation in applications and robotic systems.
- Familiarity with how animations are executed on hardware platforms like ESP32 and Raspberry Pi is a plus.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and creative teams.
- Must be located in the U.S., preferably in or willing to relocate to Las Vegas, NV.
