Responsibilities
Working under the guidance of the Senior Engineer, contribute to various stages of electrical systems design for photovoltaic (PV) projects, including but not limited to: conducting site investigations, producing CAD drawings, preparing design and contract documents, creating basic specifications, and participating in the construction administration process.
Key responsibilities include:
- Completing assigned design tasks and ensuring high-quality deliverables, from concept design through to final construction documents.
- Managing a high production workload.
- Independently performing the following engineering tasks with minimal supervision:
- Drafting electrical construction documents using AutoCAD.
- Designing electrical distribution systems and preparing single-line diagrams.
- Developing solar photovoltaic (PV) system designs.
- Performing voltage calculations and sizing conductors and raceways.
- Conducting detailed PV Syst calculations.
- Coordinating with utility companies.
- Reviewing codes and regulations.
- Preparing technical specifications.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in electrical engineering related to photovoltaic systems.
- Proven ability to deliver quality construction documents while working in both production and design roles, meeting the expectations of senior staff.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and a working knowledge of other design software.
- Computer literacy, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and familiarity with engineering tools such as ETAP and PV Syst.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
