One of our clients is a well-established firm with decades of experience and a strong reputation in their field, offering specialized solutions and expert guidance tailored to their clients' needs. They are looking for a Senior Systems Administrator who will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of our client’s computer systems, network servers, and virtualization environments. This is an onsite position based in Fairfield County, CT.
Senior Systems Administrator’s Responsibilities and Duties
- Maintain, configure, and ensure the reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization environments.
- Install and upgrade computer components and software as needed, manage virtual servers, and implement automation processes.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors, run diagnostics, document problems and resolutions, prioritize issues, and assess the impact of problems on business operations.
- Provide detailed documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgraded IT infrastructure.
Senior Systems Administrator’s Qualifications and Skills
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or related discipline.
- At least 10 years of experience in database, network administration, or system administration.
- Relevant system administration and IT certifications (e.g., Linux, Microsoft) are preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware) or equivalent solutions.
- Extensive understanding of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols.
