MacDonald and Company are exclusively partnered with a top 20 national developer of affordable and mixed-use housing projects, we are seeking a seasoned construction manager for their Southeast market expansion. The role involves overseeing multiple ground up affordable housing projects across FL, GA, NC. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the design and development teams to ensure cost-effective projects and manage third-party contractors.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership, coordinate, and facilitate general construction activities by third-party contractors to ensure adherence to plans and specifications.
- Monitor and review contractors’ work for budget, schedule, quality, and owner’s programs.
- Update project financial models and provide regular reports on financial performance.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality standards and compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders, coordinating and participating in Owner Architect Contractor (OAC) meetings.
- Identify project risks early, develop mitigation strategies, and lead workflow between design consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Develop conceptual estimates from design documents, providing input on constructability and cost during the design process.
- Track and manage construction schedules and production levels to ensure timely project completion, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Produce monthly construction reports summarizing project progress, financials, and schedule performance.
- Lead and manage project teams, providing guidance and support, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in construction management, engineering, or business.
- CMAA, PMI, or similar construction project management certifications preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of construction or project management experience, with at least 5 years in multifamily development and construction.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations, OSHA 30 or higher preferred.
- Ability to maintain high levels of integrity and professionalism under pressure and multiple deadlines.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
- Superior organizational and problem-solving skills.
