Seeking a talented EHS Manager to champion Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and compliance for a growing manufacturing company with an exceptional culture and history of success.
This newly created position owns all EHS-related functions for a world-class metal fabrication and manufacturing operation in a state-of-the-art facility in Beloit.
Responsibilities include:
- Safety program management and policy and procedure establishment, implementation, enforcement, and continuous improvement in compliance with all applicable rules and regulations including OSHA and ISO 1400 and 45001.
- Conduct safety hazard assessments, safety walks to identify potential hazards, and safety team meetings.
- Document, schedule and conduct training for all employees on safety procedures relevant to job descriptions, work instructions, hazard assessments, and overall prevention of accidents or work-related injuries. Coordinate regular toolbox talks, general safety practice, and annual safety training including emergency preparedness and response.
- Perform and document safety audits, surveys and inspections, make recommendations for corrective or preventive measures as needed, and follow through implementation and process documentation.
- Accident investigation and reporting, root cause analysis and prevention, and all related record keeping/report filing. Maintain the company’s safety files and records.
- Develop and maintain environmental reports including storm water permits, SPCC, etc., In compliance with ISO 14000 and/or any compliance requirements. Analyze work environments to improve sustainability practices.
- Assist with compliance of EHS requirements for new product or equipment introduction.
- Advise leadership team on safety compliance concerns and preventative actions.
- Help develop and monitor the 6s program, problem solve and communicate effectively with work team, and contribute ideas for continuous improvement of workflow and processes.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering and/or environmental health and safety related field required. Advanced Excel and MS Office skills a must.
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing sector Environmental Health & safety (EHS) including in depth, formal knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards and demonstrated ISO 14000/18000/45000 experience. Experience in a sheet metal fabricating and welding environment strongly preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
- Capable of accurately assessing key business metrics for the safety and function and correlating to key projects and financial outcomes. 80/20 mindset and strong Lean Manufacturing tool kit with GEMBA and 6S bias.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations as well as write reports, business correspondence, and QMS/ISO procedures.
- Collaborative team builder with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with ability to effectively present EHS-related information and respond to questions at all organizational levels internally, and with customers and the public. Demonstrated skill in distilling technical information into simple terms to explain and communicate complex concepts in simple terms to general audiences.
- Strong multitasker, capable of working accurately and effectively under pressure and when faced with changes, delays, or unexpected events, maintaining composure in high stress or emergent situations, and responding in a calm and collected manner.
- Highly organized with proven critical thinking, data driven problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Mix of tactical and strategic attention to detail and ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
