Glazing Estimator
We are currently seeking an experienced Glazing Estimator for a customer in Kent that specializes in the design, fabrication, assembly and installation of custom curtain walls and glass entrances for commercial application.
In this position, you will be estimating glass, window and curtain wall bids from material takeoff to labor to final price while working with aluminum fabrication and glass & glazing trades to determine the appropriate construction of storefronts and building fronts that have been custom designed and built.
Shift:
- Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm
Pay:
- $30.00 - $35.00/hour based on experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Read, understand, and analyze plans and specifications for storefront/curtainwall project requirements
- Calculate labor requirements for assigning glaziers to construction sites.
- Work with Fabrication to determine requirements for prefabricated metal structural components
- Read and interpret shop drawings and specifications to determine work requirements, installation procedures, staging or materials required.
- Ensure a complete scope has been captured during the estimating process.
- Manage multiple simultaneous estimation projects with deadlines.
- Communicate with architects, contractors, and project managers.
- Provide technical assistance and advice in negotiating contracts and pricing change orders.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial glazing estimating, with expertise in both glass and aluminum glazing systems
- Knowledge of specific procedures and components for glass storefronts required
- Experience installing curtain walls, glass entrances and storefronts required
- Must be able to read blueprints as well as analyze architectural details and shop drawings
- Experience with Glazier Studio software required, PartnerPak Studio software preferred
- Must be able to make material takeoffs, obtain quotes from suppliers, review and confirm accuracy of orders.
- Some fabrication knowledge required
