Our client, a leader in manufacturing innovative wireless communication products, is seeking an RF Engineer to join their close-knit team. This role focuses on new product development in long-range communication systems, offering the chance to work on exciting, dynamic projects.
Overview:
This position entails a wide range of responsibilities, supporting the engineering design team with tasks such as testing, documentation, research, installation, troubleshooting, and analyzing wireless communication systems. The ideal candidate is a versatile, team-oriented problem-solver who enjoys tackling technical challenges with creative solutions. Close collaboration with senior engineers is essential for meeting project deadlines efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to define and interpret system specifications to meet product requirements.
- Assist in the creation of system designs, installation plans, and testing strategies.
- Design and evaluate systems and subsystems to improve performance, add features, and optimize cost and size.
- Work closely with clients, team members, and partners throughout the project lifecycle, from requirements drafting to system development and integration.
- Provide technical support for building and troubleshooting wireless communication prototypes and products.
- Learn about underground mining processes to enhance client communication.
- Conduct RF measurement and testing in the facility.
- Participate in the R&D, design, and testing of electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks for various applications.
- Perform additional duties as required, including support for proposal efforts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or a related technical field) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Experience in RF/Data Communications or Field Telecommunications is highly desirable, with knowledge of wireless site deployments and technical components.
- Strong understanding of RF system configurations and testing (e.g., RF theory, antenna design, link budgets, RF measurement techniques, and simulations).
- Proficiency in technical planning and hands-on testing of RF/digital systems.
- Experience using CAD software for RF equipment layouts and coverage models.
- Ability to conduct technical training sessions and product briefings for customers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Knowledge of databases and networking (e.g., MySQL, TCP/IP, Windows 10/11) is a plus.
- Familiarity with test equipment for PCB troubleshooting and the ability to read schematic and PCB layout designs is an advantage.
