Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed memoranda, legal briefs, and advisory opinions to support litigation, internal investigations, and client counseling efforts.
- Draft and revise a wide range of client documents, including employment policies, employee handbooks, training materials, separation agreements, and other employment documents.
- Manage all aspects of the discovery process, including depositions, document production, interrogatories, and requests for admissions, while coordinating with opposing counsel and ensuring compliance with deadlines.
- Perform thorough fact-gathering activities, including collecting, organizing, and synthesizing relevant documents, conducting detailed interviews with witnesses, and maintaining clear and consistent communication with clients.
- Represent clients before courts and administrative bodies, including motion practice and hearings.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of statutes, legal decisions, ordinances, and other governing legal authority, with a focus on employment law and related areas.
- Provide support through all stages of litigation, mediation, and trial preparation in single-plaintiff employment cases and wage-and-hour class actions.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years’ experience, including at least 2 years in the field of employment law.
- Preferred: Candidates with prior experience litigating and/or advising clients on California wage and hour matters.
