MRO Crib Attendant
Job Summary:
The MRO Attendant will be responsible for the setup, organization, and management of a new MRO crib at SLPT Warren. This role involves ensuring that the crib is fully functional and stocked with essential maintenance, repair, and operational supplies. The attendant will work closely with the procurement and maintenance teams to establish efficient inventory control, distribution processes, and accurate record-keeping.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setup and Organization:
- Assist in the layout and physical setup of the MRO crib.
- Organize storage areas for tools, spare parts, and consumables by part number.
- Label and categorize all inventory for easy identification and access.
- Inventory Management:
- Implement inventory tracking systems using PLEX to monitor stock levels.
- Conduct initial and ongoing stock counts to ensure accurate inventory levels.
- Coordinate with suppliers and the MRO Buyer(s) to order necessary parts and supplies.
- Develop and maintain an efficient process for receiving, storing, and distributing MRO items.
- Crib Operations:
- Manage the daily operation of the MRO crib, including issuing tools, parts, and supplies to maintenance staff.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the crib area.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations for material storage and handling.
- Data Entry and Reporting:
- Accurately record all inventory transactions, including the issuance and return of tools and parts.
- Generate reports on inventory usage, re-order points, and stock levels for management review.
- Vendor and Supplier Relations:
- Work closely with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Review and verify invoices for received materials and coordinate with accounts payable for timely payments.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the MRO crib operations.
- Implement best practices for tool and part management to reduce waste and downtime.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in maintenance or supply chain preferred.
- Previous experience in inventory management, warehousing, or MRO operations.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as PLEX or similar software for inventory tracking.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects as required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of safety protocols related to material handling and storage.
Working Conditions:
- This is a full-time position requiring physical presence at the SLPT Warren facility.
- The role involves working in a warehouse or shop-floor environment, with exposure to loud machinery and moving parts.
