Job Title: Fair Housing and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Director

Job Summary: The Fair Housing and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Director is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to promote fair housing practices and enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization and the communities it serves. This role will involve collaboration with various stakeholders, including government agencies, community organizations, and internal departments to foster an inclusive environment that upholds the principles of fair housing.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fair housing and DEI strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- Conduct assessments to identify barriers to fair housing and areas for improvement in DEI.
Policy Development:
- Formulate and revise policies related to fair housing, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local fair housing laws and regulations.
Education and Training:
- Design and deliver training programs for staff, stakeholders, and community members on fair housing rights and DEI principles.
- Create educational materials to raise awareness about housing discrimination and promote inclusive practices.
Community Engagement:
- Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, advocacy groups, and government agencies.
- Organize outreach programs to engage underrepresented communities and promote fair housing opportunities.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect and analyze data related to housing discrimination and DEI initiatives.
- Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders to communicate findings and progress.
Advocacy:
- Advocate for policies and practices that promote fair housing and DEI at local, state, and national levels.
- Represent the organization in public forums and discussions related to fair housing and social equity.
Leadership and Oversight:
- Lead a team of professionals focused on fair housing and DEI initiatives.
- Provide guidance and support to staff in implementing fair housing practices and DEI efforts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public Policy, Human Resources, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in fair housing, diversity, equity, and inclusion roles, with a strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working with diverse communities and understanding their unique challenges.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in fair housing or DEI-related programs.
- Experience in policy advocacy or community organizing.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools and methodologies.
