Production Manager
EVONA has partnered with a leading Space organization who are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader to spearhead change within their production planning team. If you are passionate about optimizing manufacturing processes, developing teams, and driving efficiency, this role is for you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of our capacity management process, identifying gaps and ensuring execution success.
- Investigate and implement systems/tools to track and display manufacturing performance against material plans, schedules, and cost goals.
- Oversee Master Production Schedules for our site, ensuring smooth and timely operations.
- Conduct root cause analyses on missed metrics, implementing corrective and preventative actions.
- Lead strategic improvement initiatives to optimize material flow, visual factory management, and improve cycle times.
- Collaborate with internal suppliers to improve delivery of critical inputs like designs, equipment, and materials.
- Drive automation through ERP/MRP systems to enhance process adherence and efficiency.
What You'll Do:
- Foster a Safety & Quality first culture across production planning and operations teams.
- Motivate and develop a capable production team, enhancing their technical, project management, and facilitation skills.
- Lead the monthly S&OP process, coordinating content input, and preparing executive reports.
- Oversee kit readiness, WIP tracking, defect resolution, and factory material replenishment.
- Continuously improve process efficiency through automation and Lean Manufacturing strategies.
- Support bids with manpower estimates for program execution.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree + 9 years of experience in production planning, master scheduling, or project management, or a graduate degree + 7 years. In lieu of a degree, 13+ years of experience in production systems and team leadership.
- Proven ability to drive improvements in cost, quality, and efficiency in manufacturing.
- Experience in leading and transforming teams.
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance (required).
Preferred Skills:
- 3+ years with ERP/MRP systems, with super user experience preferred.
- Experience with MES systems and other scheduling tools.
- APICS certifications in planning, inventory management, or logistics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Lean & Six Sigma tools like 5S, Kaizen, root cause analysis, etc.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to engage all levels of management and personnel.
