Head of Security

Our client, a global luxury retailer, is seeking a Head of Security for a new location in Las Vegas. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety and security of employees, visitors, and assets.

Main Responsibilities:
- Policy Implementation: Develop and enforce security policies related to employee and visitor safety, business continuity, loss prevention, fraud prevention, and privacy.
- Audit Compliance: Collaborate with the Store Director to ensure adherence to security audit standards and global protection protocols.
- Incident Response: Address security concerns and manage incidents.
- Staff Training: Instruct and oversee security personnel on reporting and emergency procedures.
- Team Management: Hire, train, and supervise security staff, ensuring they meet the brand’s standards for conduct and appearance.
- Coordination: Work with IT, HR, and other departments to ensure cohesive security operations.
- Equipment Oversight: Ensure the proper installation, maintenance, and functionality of security equipment, including CCTV and alarm systems.
- Risk Management: Conduct regular audits and assessments of the security platform, investigating breaches as necessary.
- Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with security vendors and local law enforcement agencies.
- Event Security: Organize security for special events, deliveries, and photoshoots.
- Logistics Coordination: Oversee logistics related to security needs for deliveries and operations.
- Resource Management: Ensure adequate security staffing for daily operations and during staff absences.
- Training & Development: Identify training needs for security personnel and facilitate ongoing development.
- Emergency Coordination: Liaise with emergency services to ensure coordinated incident response.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:
- Experience: Strong background of operational management either within luxury retail, corporate security, or relevant military/police experience.
- Technical Awareness: Knowledge of loss prevention and asset protection techniques suitable for a retail environment.
- Electronic Security Proficiency: Familiarity with CCTV, alarm systems, and other electronic security measures.
- Communication Skills: Proficient in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Pressure Management: Ability to handle high-pressure situations and travel as needed.
- Investigation Skills: Strong communication and understanding of formal investigative processes.
- Qualifications: Recognized Close Protection qualification is desirable.
- Resource Management: Strong command of security operations and resource management.
- Computer Literacy: Proficient in relevant software and technology.
- Risk Management Knowledge: Understanding of risk management principles.
- Background Check: Must undergo a rigorous background check and drug test.
- Driving License: Full, clean driving license required.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to handle unpredictable situations creatively and effectively.
