As a Standards Program Manager, you'll facilitate the collaborative efforts of dedicated committees and working groups to create, formalize, and disseminate standards that advance trusted information exchange across our industry.
In this role, you’ll be a central figure in organizing and guiding volunteer experts, helping them work through complex workflows to deliver timely, effective standards. You’ll play a pivotal role in recruiting and supporting committee members, working with stakeholders to identify project needs, and ensuring adherence to best practices. Your work will be instrumental in monitoring project progress, troubleshooting issues, and promoting the standards produced by NISO.
We’re looking for someone with a strong background in standards development and project management, and experience in libraries, publishing, or information science is ideal. If you have exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, enjoy public speaking, and can foster collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders, this role might be perfect for you. Familiarity with ANSI or ISO standards procedures, experience in managing remote teams, and knowledge of tools like XML or document markup will be advantageous.
