One of our longstanding clients, a regional home builder operating throughout the Coastal Carolinas are seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join the leadership team and help drive this growing business forward. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations and mentorship of the finance and accounting department.
- Provide insights and recommendations to guide the company's strategic decisions.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support business growth and profitability.
- Create and manage annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial planning.
- Monitor financial performance, identifying areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
- Lead the preparation of financial statements, reports, and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with department leaders to monitor job costs, margins, and financial projections.
- Manage relationships with banks, investors, auditors, and other financial institutions.
- Promote a culture of financial accountability and continuous improvement within the organization.
- Oversee cash flow management, ensuring optimal liquidity for business operations.
- Ensure timely completion of all financial audits and reviews.
- Support the company's growth initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, and new business ventures.
- Perform other duties and ad hoc requests as needed.
- Ensure the team's alignment with company goals and objectives, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
- At least ten years of experience in accounting/finance, with five years in a senior financial leadership role.
- Extensive experience and track record of success within the homebuilding industry.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with financial modeling.
- Experience with financial software and ERP systems (MarkSystems experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
- Proven track record of strategic financial planning and execution.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed, strategic decisions.
