Quality Manager - $3+ Billion Manufacturing Company – Poplar Bluff, MO
The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring quality at every phase of the manufacturing value stream, from the raw material supply to the customer's end use, with a focus on collaboration and mutual understanding. This position will report to the Plant Manager.
Compensation: $120,000 - $135,000 + Bonus.
Relocation: $15,000 lump sum for renters, $35,000 for homeowners.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the execution of quality initiatives and correct and preventive action across all value streams to achieve strategic quality objectives
- Manage the effectiveness and timely completion of root cause investigation and resolution of customer, warranty, and supplier quality incidents in compliance with industry best practice methodologies
- Guide and support quality resources, working with new product development teams and site peers to ensure shared success by utilizing APQP-based management systems to meet Gates' goals in sales growth and product vitality, while reducing the risk of defect escape.
- Maintain an effective PPAP submission process that ensures timely and accurate part qualification for customers, or as part of incoming part qualification.
- Ownership of the internal quality management system audit process & Layered Process Audit
- The position will work closely with the operational site, plant management, corporate quality, and cross-functional and business leadership personnel to achieve quality improvement objectives.
- Direct reports: Quality Supervisor, Engineers & Technicians
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) undergraduate college degree or equivalent in a technical discipline (E.g. Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, etc.).
- Required: Minimum of 5 years' experience in quality assurance roles, including a minimum of three years' experience in a management or supervisory capacity.
- Required: Minimum of 3 years' experience in tier 1 automotive
- Required: Working knowledge of and experience with ISO9001 and IATF16949 Quality Management certification
- Required: Working knowledge of automotive industry core tools (AIAG - APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, etc.)
- Quality assurance problem solving tools (E.g. 5-Why, Cause & Effect Diagrams, DOE, 8D, etc.) is required.
- Experience utilizing quality assurance PC Applications is a plus: Minitab, SPC Applications, etc.
- Preferred: Certification as a Quality Engineer (CQE), Quality Manager (CQM), Quality Auditor (CQA) or Six Sigma Black Belt through ASQ or an equivalent certification is preferred, but not required.
- Advanced Excel skills required.
