Lab Analyst

Position Timeframe: Please note this role is temporary. The estimated timeframe is November 2024 through March 2025.
Position Purpose:
Conduct chemical testing of raw materials and finished products to meet specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains a safe work environment and follows site safety rules.
- Completes chemical product testing of in-process and finished materials with high level of accuracy and management of supporting records.
- Analyzes results of testing, including data analysis and results interpretation.
- Follows reaction plans and communication protocols for nonconforming material.
- Adheres to technical standards with regards to chemical materials, product testing and test methods .
- Creates / prepares chemical solutions, reagents and calibration standards as needed to support product testing and/or troubleshooting.
- Maintains all required laboratory equipment and supplies. This may include (a) standardization or calibration of equipment, (b) cleaning of glassware or test equipment, (c) maintaining specialized equipment (d) keeping all equipment and furniture clean and functional. Ensures flow of testing requirements are efficient and cost effective.
- Performs product scans for analysis using computed tomography (CT).
- Maintains product retain samples.
Education Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related
field preferred.
Experience Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year working in a QC manufacturing lab
- Operation of Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) and performing calculations for results
- Performing calculations and preparing solutions for analysis using lab equipment
- (pipettes, bottle top dispensers, microwave digestion, and balances)
- Interpretation of calibration curves for standards
- Making dilutions and calculating concentrations

Working Conditions
- Frequent exposure to mild discomfort due to fumes from acids and hazards associated with chemical/heat burns.
- Frequent exposure to toxic chemicals and fumes such as hydrochloric acid.
- Occasionally exposed to loud noise when working in different areas of the manufacturing facility.
- Ability to stand and walk while performing lab tests approximately 75% of workday
