We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our IT team, specializing in Active Directory (AD), Azure AD, Windows Server, Windows Desktop, and domain migration. The ideal candidate will also have a solid background in technical writing, as you will document procedures, technical solutions, and migration processes. You will play a key role in managing our IT infrastructure, supporting system migrations, and ensuring that technical documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
Active Directory & Azure AD Management:
- Design, implement, and manage Active Directory (AD) and Azure AD environments, including user account management, group policies, and security configurations.
- Perform day-to-day maintenance of Windows Server and Desktop environments, ensuring system integrity, security, and availability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AD replication, group policy application, DNS, and AD authentication.
Domain Migrations:
- Plan and execute domain migrations (including mergers, acquisitions, or company rebranding), ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Perform user, group, and resource migrations between domains using industry best practices.
- Ensure proper post-migration testing, validation, and documentation.
Windows Server & Desktop Administration:
- Maintain and troubleshoot Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022) and Windows Desktop (Windows 10/11) environments, ensuring optimal performance.
- Install, configure, and monitor Windows services such as DNS, DHCP, and file/print services.
Technical Writing & Documentation:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system configurations, migration guides, and operational procedures.
- Create clear, concise, and detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) for IT support teams and end-users.
- Document troubleshooting steps, configurations, and solutions for future reference.
Security & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with company security policies and standards.
- Implement security best practices in both on-premises and cloud environments.
Collaboration & Support:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT support, security, and developers, to ensure smooth system operations.
- Provide Tier 3/4 technical support for system issues related to Active Directory, Azure AD, and Windows environments.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in systems engineering with a focus on Active Directory and Azure AD.
- Proven experience with domain migrations and supporting Windows Server environments.
- Strong background in Windows Server administration (2016, 2019, 2022) and Windows Desktop support (Windows 10/11).
Technical Writing:
- Strong technical writing skills with a demonstrated ability to create clear and comprehensive documentation.
- Experience in creating IT documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in Active Directory, Azure AD, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
- Proficiency with PowerShell scripting for automation and management tasks.
- Experience with tools and technologies related to domain migration (e.g., ADMT, Quest Migration Manager).
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred).
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, or equivalent (preferred).
