Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our accounting and finance team. The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and helping with the closing responsibilities. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with the ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Account Reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including cash reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and vendor payments. Ensure discrepancies are identified, investigated, and resolved in a timely manner.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the consolidated business and individual divisions. Ensure timely submission to stakeholders. Prepare related journal entries and review general ledger coding and cash applications daily.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee AP/AR functions, ensuring timely payments and collections. Will be posting cash receipts and preparing/sending statements. Review payment record for duplicates and manage the refunds schedule to ensure timely payments to clients.
- Checks and Credit Cards: Review outstanding checks regularly and follow up on aged items. Maintain and review employee credit cards and expense reports. Manage all credit card chargebacks and dispute resolution process.
- Tax Reporting: Assist with review of quarterly payroll tax filings in various states.
- Variance Analysis: Will assist in developing the monthly variance analysis to track discrepancies against the budget.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvements and system enhancements.
Collaboration: Work closely with finance, operations, and management teams to streamline processes and ensure financial accuracy.
