I’m recruiting for my client, who is looking to hire a Junior Property Manager for a portfolio on the Upper West Side of Manhattan focusing on low-income housing.
They’re looking for someone with 3+ years of property management experience in New York City, ideally with a background in low-income housing programs like Section 8 and HUD. The right candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of handling tenant relations while ensuring compliance with NYC regulations.
Responsibilities include:
- Inspecting and overseeing properties regularly
- Supporting onsite building staff management
- Coordinating repairs, renovations, and unit turnovers
- Ensuring compliance with Section 8, HUD, and other low-income housing regulations
- Managing tenant relations, handling move-ins/move-outs, and overseeing building-wide projects
- Collaborating with contractors and vendors for property maintenance
- Handling NYC Code compliance (HPD, DOB, ECB, etc.)
What they’re looking for:
- 3+ years of property management experience in NYC
- Familiarity with low-income housing programs (Section 8, HUD)
- Knowledge of HPD, DHCR, and DOB regulations
- Understanding of building systems (boilers, electrical, plumbing)
- Proficiency in MS Office and property management software (Yardi Voyager experience is a plus)
Salary: $60,000 - $70,000/year
