Lead and support the safety processes and compliance functions to ensure that safety issues are addressed and compliance matters are maintained according to OSHA and company guidelines. Assist in achieving plant safety goals and objectives, contributing to the overall performance in areas such as Safety, Quality, and Reliability. Uphold the company’s values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Provide safety updates and assist with regulatory compliance matters as needed.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of reports, surveys, and audits required by regulatory agencies.
- Support the development and maintenance of the Emergency Response Plan in line with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain a basic understanding of FDA, OSHA, EPA, and local regulations relevant to the role.
- Assist in administering the Respiratory Protection Plan and ensure compliance with related standards.
- Help with the development, maintenance, and training of safety policies and procedures.
- Assist in compliance efforts with state and U.S. E.P.A. regulations, including necessary reporting.
- Support the collection and submission of data for annual EPA reports (e.g., Section 311, 312, and 313 reporting).
- Participate in the investigation of incidents and accidents, assisting in identifying root causes and corrective actions.
- Support the safety team in ongoing efforts to improve behavioral and physical safety processes.
- Participate in internal safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards.
- Support compliance with the Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles.

- Must be able to work around ingredients and/or finished products that may contain food allergens.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Some experience in Behavioral Based Safety is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of compliance/regulatory requirements and ability to read safety documents.
- Strong ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks with attention to detail.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Basic organizational, planning, and facilitation skills.
Desired Experience:
- Associate's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Completion of OSHA 10 or 30 Hour Training is preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in compliance/regulatory and safety roles.
