The Contract manufacturing Engineer should possess the skills, experience, and knowledge to support the Project & Client Teams. This position reports directly to the Electrical Engineering Lead at the current time and will assist our client’s product delivery team by reviewing & developing testing procedures for new products and assemblies. The position will coordinate deliverable development processes and incorporate our client’s quality practices. The successful candidate is required to exhibit excellent communication abilities, technical proficiency, proactive & positive discipline leadership and a continuous pursuit of safety while supporting our client remotely or within their office performing field observations. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as Manufacturing Engineer in a cross-functional environment with engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and product management teams working toward the goal of producing test procedures and forms for quality management of individual products and assembled skids/buildings.
- Technical knowledge and experience in the areas of modular data centers, metal structures, electrical enclosures, industrial controls, and low & medium voltage power distribution.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification in DMAIC methodologies is a plus to integrate and apply lean manufacturing principles to current testing & validation processes
- Provide technical guidance and solutions wherever deemed appropriate to streamline or optimize the product’s time through testing and delivery without sacrificing safety and quality excellence
- Proficient in Quality Management Practices & Standards for Manufacturing (ISO 9001:2015, UL Listing Standards, NEMA standards, Interstate Industrialized Building Commission standards, OSHA standards, ISNetworld standards)
- Coordinate with the team to review & develop processes, procedures and inspection forms which are easy to follow, input data, and evaluate by the Client Manufacturing Quality Manager
- Collaborate with Client Document Control Manager to ensure new deliverables align with document numbering & filing systems.
- Work with clients and vendors to obtain, review & comment information required to complete deliverables onschedule while building effective working relationships.
- Literate in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Access at a minimum),Google Workspace, and AutoCAD Vault
- Willingness to travel as required for project development (less than 20% is normal)
- Must be able to traverse client sites to conduct walkdowns including, but not limited to, climbing ladders and stairs.
- Must be able to work outside at client sites in all weather conditions.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.
- Ability to pass drug and alcohol screenings, if required to attend site/field visit and is dictated by client.
Project Management
Communicate and develop project change requests to Project Management / Electrical Leadership
Develop and maintain strong communication lines with clients and project team members (internal and external)
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- BS in Electrical Engineering or similar from an ABET accredited school; MS Degree in Electrical Engineering isa plus
- Minimum of 10 years of electrical engineering experience
- Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams.
- Valid Professional Engineer license with completed NCEES record is a plus
- Advanced knowledge of National Electric Code, National Electric Safety Code, API Recommended Practice Documentation, IEEE & ISA standards
