JOB SUMMARY
In this position your focus will be working directly with animals and will perform technical procedures and collect data. In this position you will learn and perfect complex procedures including learning the skills to operate laboratory equipment, specimens collection techniques and data acquisition. Depending on large or small animals you may work with different animals: mice, rats, nonhuman primates, swine and canine and you will have the opportunity to become a proficient, highly skilled expert in this field.
You will follows standard operating procedures (SOPs) and protocols to perform procedures on study and stock animals, including, but not limited to clinical observations, food consumption, body weights, urine collection, administering injectable anesthesia, mating procedures, blood draws all routes, euthanasianecropsy, catheter placement, restraint, enrichment, and feeding.
Must Haves:
- Bachelor's degree
- Full time, In-person: 5 days/ 40 hours per week
- Comfortable working with rodents and primates
- Previous animal care experience and passion for animal welfare and safety
- Comfortable working in a research facility
