A D.C.(Georgetown) Law Firm is seeking a Patent Docket Specialist to join their team. The Patent Docket Specialist must have a solid understanding of the United States, international, and various foreign patent office rules, procedures, and guidelines. The Patent Docket Specialist must have experience in all areas of prosecution docketing. Responsibilities, include (but are not limited to) creating and maintaining patent prosecution files, maintaining the docketing database, entering deadlines and other case-specific data into docketing system, interpreting documents and identifying deadlines, preparing weekly and periodic reports, and following-up on deadlines. This role is hybrid requiring 1-2 days in office.

Salary: $75K-90K DOE

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor docketing inbox and PAIR for incoming correspondence and actions from the USPTO.
- Docket USPTO and foreign patent and/or trademark mail in docketing system according to established firm procedures
- Generate and monitor daily docket of all deadlines and ensure that deadlines are met and system is properly and promptly updated
- Monitor IP Docketing log daily and update docketing system accordingly
- Review incoming and outgoing emails, faxes, mail and update docketing systems as necessary
- Report to the client/FA (within 24 hours of receipt), any correspondence received via the use of Firm templates and with relevant due dates.
- Respond to requests from attorneys and other IP staff members
- Assist with various docketing projects as assigned by the Office Administrator
- Generate specialized reports and dockets as necessary.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 2-4 years as an IP Docketing Coordinator, IP Docketing Specialist or similar position
- Strong organizational skills
- Extensive experience with either CPI or other docketing software
- Professional demeanor; ability to work with a small team
- Minimum high school diploma; preferably 2 or 4-year degree or Paralegal Certificate
