New Product Development & Commercialization
Temporary Position
A CPG company is seeking a Project Manager of New Product Commercialization, on a contract basis. There is a strong possibility for this role to convert to permanent. This person should have experience developing and managing new product development projects working with co-manufacturers both domestically and internationally. Solid project management and timeline skills and cross-functional team coordination.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Commercialization expertise. You should have experience in new product development, supply chain, and manufacturing operations, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
- Know the tools of the trade. MS Project, Excel, Power Point and Word.
- Talented communicator. Excellent communication skills.
- Leadership. You will function as an organizational leader as a representative of our company with our co-manufacturer network.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- New Product Development. You will work closely with all business departments to develop our new product development items from concept to production. You will act as the contact between our business and our co-manufacturing partners to create new and innovative products, acting as BCB's product development expert. NPD items include confectionery, gifting items, health and wellness "better for you" treats, and snacking goods.
- Cross functional collaboration. You will need to work closely with R&D, Marketing, Sales, Quality and Procurement to ensure flawless and timely execution of new product innovations, e-commerce products, promotional launches and seasonal launches.
- Timeline Management. You will be responsible for on time product launches. Managing all aspects of the timeline for new product launch, working with all cross-functional teams to ensure deadlines are hit, tasks are completed and on-time launch is as expected.
WHAT ARE THE NECESSARY REQUIREMENTS
- Success working with cross functional project teams
- Entrepreneurial and creative with the ability to successfully interact within a multicultural business environment and at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership
- Strong project management skills
- Experience in manufacturing both domestically and internationally a plus
- Confectionery and plastics technology experience a plus
- Experience working with snacking foods and/or health and wellness foods a plus
- Role is based in New York, NY
