Job Description:
We are looking for a talented and passionate Security Engineer with 4+ years of security experience to join our team. As a Security Engineer, you will play a key role in securing our networks, systems, and applications. You will work closely with our Infrastructure, Development, and Compliance teams to identify security risks, develop solutions, and implement best practices to safeguard our organization. As a contributor to compliance, this position will require the ability to perform daily routine tasks in a consistent manner. The ideal candidate will have experience as both a system and network administrator along with security responsibilities. This position requires the ability to lift up to 40lbs on an occasional basis. This is a hybrid position that is predominantly remote-first but will require occasional work onsite in Orlando, Florida.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain operational excellence for existing security frameworks.
• Monitor and respond to security events, incidents, alerts and user requests, 7 x 24 x 365.
• Ensure daily tasks are completed to comply with relevant regulations and security standards.
• Perform reviews of documentation including security policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Remain current with the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address security issues and improve overall security.
• Design and implement new technologies when and where appropriate.
Qualifications:
4+ years of hands-on experience in information security.
• Experience with security tools such as NGFWs, IDS/IPS, SIEM, FIM, AEP/EDR, MDM, Application
Defense, Web Proxies, RADIUS, and vulnerability scanners.
• Understanding of network protocols, encryption technologies, certificates.
• Experience with cloud architectures, specifically AWS.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Windows Server 2019, Windows 10/11.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of Linux.
• Working knowledge of Office 365, including Defender.
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks and best practices.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Excellent time management skills are a must.
• Willingness and desire to learn new skills.
Value-Added Qualifications:
Experience working in environments subjected to various compliance standards.
• Familiarity with CIS Benchmarks and Windows GPO.
• Working knowledge of Visio.
• Working knowledge of switches and wireless technology.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CISM, CompTIA Security+) are a plus.
• Exposure to FIPS 140-2 Vaults.
Education:
• BS Computer Science or equivalent.
