Job Description
This is an entry-level Analyst position is designed for a recent college undergraduate who is interested in gaining experience in the private equity industry. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare analysis used in the evaluation of potential investments by VCFA Group. The Analyst’s development path is typically over a two-year period. The Analyst’s scope broadens over the period and escalates in responsibility and compensation upon the successful completion of annual review each year.
Responsibilities
· Support the Investment team in the evaluation of potential investments
· Learn to screen and develop new investment opportunities through the deal sourcing and selection process
· Begin to build relationships with existing and prospective general partners and funds
· Prepare for and conduct due diligence meetings (prepare agendas and extensive questions relevant to the opportunity at hand)
· Contribute and distribute industry news, research and data to the team
· Review and analyze target portfolio company financials/historical performance and determine valuation range assumptions conducive to deliver the expected rate of return on investment
· Prepare VCFA financial models and presentations for Investment Committee meetings
· Develop research materials and presentation slides dedicated to a specific sector or vertical
· Taking lead on preparation of pitchbooks, market analyses, post-meeting follow-ups, data gathering for potential secondary investments
· Work closely with Investment team to develop equity distribution waterfall models based on projected scenarios
· Perform post-investment monitoring of funds, including periodic meetings with general partners, annual meeting attendance and office visits
· Prepare comments for the quarterly and annual reports
· Manage and maintain data related to underlying fund performance and company data
Requirements

- Basic understanding of financial statements and accounting
- Experience with Microsoft Excel

Compensation
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and will consist of salary and bonus.
