Litigation Paralegal
Location: Torrance, CA
Compensation: $35 to $45 per hour
Job Type: Contract to Hire, Full-Time, Hybrid (The first two weeks fully onsite then 2 days onsite and 3 days working from home) Contract period 3 to 6 months
We are seeking a skilled Litigation Paralegal to join our team on a contract-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in civil litigation, with experience in lemon law being a plus. You should be detail-oriented, a quick learner, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with discovery, including responding to discovery requests and managing the discovery process.
- Coordinate and schedule depositions and issue subpoenas as needed.
- Prepare and file documents in state and federal courts; familiarity with iManage is a plus.
- Assist in trial preparation, including mediations and arbitrations.
- Prepare, manage, and organize exhibits for legal proceedings.
- Draft, edit, and proofread various legal documents, including correspondence, agreements, and pleadings.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in civil litigation; lemon law experience is a plus.
- Paralegal certificate is required.
- Experience with state and federal court filings.
- Familiarity with iManage document management system is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to new tasks.
