The Florida Immigrant Coalition (FLIC) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to grow the connection, capacity, and consciousness of communities to strengthen pro-immigrant power in Florida.
Job Description
FLIC aspires to build an inclusive movement, and we welcome partnerships with champions from various sectors, including businesses and corporations that share our values and vision of social justice. The Business Organizer will reach, engage, and organize partners in the business sector, fostering a culture of corporate social responsibility that supports immigrant justice.
Outreach and Recruitment
● Conduct outreach and recruitment of entrepreneurs, business leaders, and business representatives to collaborate with the immigrant rights movement by:
○ Engaging employees, clients, and partners in issue campaigns
○ Creating opportunities for consciousness-raising within their sphere of influence and company
○ Mobilizing talent and volunteers for various activities
○ Supporting the financial sustainability of our movement by hosting fundraisers, sharing a portion of profits, making a donation, and/or engaging employees in paycheck deduction programs and/or matching employee contributions
● Serve as liaison between FLIC and its business partners
● Build relationships with, and develop awareness and commitment of business leaders and diverse stakeholders to support FLIC Coalition advocacy efforts
● Engage partners in collaborative events, advocacy work, training, volunteer opportunities, and fundraising
● Shape an immigrant-owned business power Program Communications and Reporting
● Collaborate with the Communications Department to develop materials for education and engagement of business partners
● Collaborate with the Development Department to advance a “Corporate Social Responsibility” program
● Track recruitment and engagement progress through rigorous use of constituent relationship management software (CRM)
● Prepare and submit periodic reports.
Qualifications
● Passion for social, racial, gender, worker justice, and immigrant rights required
● A minimum of two years of professional experience in related fields or a college degree is required
● Project management experience with demonstrated ability to solve problems, meet tight deadlines, manage resources effectively, and work in teams and with people of diverse backgrounds
● Proficiency in using CRM software required (Every Action preferred)
● Attention to detail, strong writing ability, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work at a fast pace while managing project requests are required
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Docs is required
● Must have their vehicle and be willing to drive
● Must be available to work with a flexible schedule, including weekends or evenings, and be able to travel locally and statewide
● Proficiency in Spanish is required.
Salary Salary Range:
$51K to $57K (Salary commensurate with experience)
