CAD Engineer – Implementation
- The primary task in this role is to provide flow support and QA for existing implementation
(synthesis, place & route) flows.
- Support requests would come through a bug tracking system, potentially from automated regressions in some cases.
- The candidate will need to partner with flow developers and the manager to prioritize these requests, root-cause the problems, and propose solutions.
- Depending on the complexity of each solution and the aptitude of the
- candidate, they may implement it directly, hand off to flow developers, or propose a change to the EDA tool itself.
- Qualified candidates could be given supervised flow development projects.
Requirements
Strong proficiency with TCL
A non-exhaustive list of examples: Candidate must know TCL namespaces, efficient list and string manipulation, and modern APIs such as dictionaries (which are distinct from arrays)
Working knowledge of Python (Perl is also acceptable)
Examples: Candidate must know how to load modules, create a class and sub-class, instantiate
an object, apply a list comprehension (or Perl equivalent), and use the language standard
library.
Strong proficiency with EDA Sign-off tools
Candidate must have industry experience supporting or using most of the following
implementation tools in a silicon tape-out environment (bold tools are preferred)
● Cadence Genus, Synopsys Design Compiler, Synopsys Fusion Compiler
● Cadence Encounter, Cadence Innovus, Synopsys Fusion Compiler, Synopsys IC
