The Project Manager will serve as a contributing member within Transfusion Medicine and Cell Therapies division, focusing on the Gene Therapy (C>) portfolio. The position reports to the Director of Product Management for C>.
We are seeking a skilled Technical Project Manager to lead the development and launch of an innovative system for the C> industry. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and a strategic mindset to ensure successful product development through market launch. The candidate will work closely with R&D, Commercial, and Regulatory as the primary project manager. This role demands strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, the ability to manage a complex project that spans across multiple functional groups, and to manage both internal and external stakeholders.
1) Develop the detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategy for the new product development
2) Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with the cross-functional teams
3) Collaborate with engineering, marketing, business development, and regulatory teams to ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables
4) Ensure directed resources are effectively utilized, work accordingly to project assumption and forecasts, and delivery efficient, high-quality work
5) Facilitate effective communication and coordination among stakeholders throughout the project, including project meeting discussions and weekly status reports
6) Responsible for communicating project status to all levels of senior management on a regular basis to facilitate informed decision-making
7) Utilize technical and industry knowledge to understand project requirements and challenges
8) Monitor project progress, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies to keep the project on track
9) Develop and manage project budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial restraints
10) Collaborate closely with marketing and business development/sales teams to develop go-to-market strategy, launch plans, and update the business case as needed
11) All employees are responsible for ensuring the compliance to company documents, programs and activities related to the Health, Safety, Environment, Energy, and Quality Management Systems, as per your roles and responsibilities
Requirements:
•Bachelor’s Degree. PMP or equivalent project management certification is a plus
•5-10 years’ experience in cell and gene therapies, biotechnology, medical devices, or equivalent combination of education and experience
•3-5 years’ experience in a project management role, preferably in technical environment overseeing a product (device, lab equipment, or other instrumentation) development and launch
•Outstanding organizational, project management, communication, and presentation skills
•Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage stakeholders, and drive project success in a fast-paced environment
•Excellent written and communication skills, with ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
•Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
•Ability and willingness to travel
•This position is NOT remote and requires in-office presence ~3 days a week in Lake Zurich, IL.
• 6 month contract position at least, with potential for conversion to full-time depending on performance
