NextGen Federal Systems is hiring a Principal Systems Engineer to support the development, integration, test, demonstration of multi-INT sensor framework (Joint Capabilities Integration & Development (JICD) Common Services). Primarily activities will be receiving vendor delivered source code and containerized components, maintain code libraries, inspect/compile code in lab, build and maintain demonstration systems, integration with external systems (sensors, other software), possibly development/modification of new capabilities. The candidate would be supporting a team of government engineers and working with the prime system vendor.
Location: Hybrid schedule; 3 days onsite, 2 days remote work
Responsibilities
- Experience in managing and maintaining Linux-based systems and environments, ensuring reliability, security and performance for: data centers, or local area networks, and serving static, dynamic and streaming content over the web.
- Scripting experience in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++to support server, applications and databases
- Team Leadership: Lead integrated teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring that all team members are aligned with project goals. Take ownership of end products, ensuring they meet quality standards and project requirements.
- Proven Ability To Lead And Manage Integrated Teams: with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong Analytical & Problem-solving Skills: to be able to troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and to devise solutions for better cooperation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or other technical discipline.
- 15+ yrs experience preferred, and an ability to lead junior developers.
- Linux certification a plus
- Proactive Problem Solving: Anticipate potential issues and proactively develop solutions to mitigate risks and ensure project success.
- Citizenship: U.S. citizenship is required.
- Clearance: Active TS with ability to obtain and SCI.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Master’s degree in IT, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science
- 10+ years of experience
- Familiarity with Docker to build and deploy containerized apps
- SIGINT, Multi-INT sensor experience or Joint Capabilities and Development System experience
