Key Responsibilities:
- Lead architect responsible for designing and developing scalable and highly available global core and cloud network architectures to meet the organizations business needs.
- Core network architecture and vision, ensure specific components are appropriately designed and leveraged.
- Evaluate alternative technologies and architectures in relation to Consolidated Communications' infrastructure needs.
- Manage complex activities simultaneously to short timescales.
- Develop scripts and processes to test, deploy and validate changes across all network infrastructure as code, leveraging Ansible and other approved corporate automation and orchestration platforms.
- Develop state of the art technology appropriate to deliver stable and scalable technical solutions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop consensus, drive results, and execute projects across the organization on time and within budget.
- Develop and maintain standards and designs for Core network architecture.
- Articulate design rationale, flexibly adapt solutions, and iterate designs when required.
- Work closely with senior management, and network engineering and operations teams.
- Act as an escalation engineer for high severity network related production issues, work with engineers and various vendors to identify tactical and strategic solutions.
- The Core and Cloud Solutions Architect will be responsible for architecture, design, implementation of core network solutions on-prem and cloud with a strong focus on multi-site architecture.
- We are seeking a highly skilled Core Network Architect with expertise in Cisco and Arista Software Defined Network (SDN) Infrastructures.
- This role requires a deep understanding of data center and cloud interconnectivity, network troubleshooting, and the ability to work on complex network issues.
- Passionate about infrastructure automation through software together with solid hands-on experience of network automation.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- Key Skills: Network Architecture, Arista, AWS.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, or related field, such as Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of proven experience designing, deploying, and managing large-scale multi-vendor enterprise networks, project delivery with focus on performance optimization and scalability.
- CCIE or CCNP Routing and Switching certifications or equivalent are required.
- Network Automation and infrastructure as code (Ansible, Python, etc.) a plus.
- Expert level knowledge of IP Networking, Routing protocols (OSPF, ISIS, BGP), SDN (Cisco ACI, Arista Spine, NSX-T etc.), and micro-segmentation.
- Public Cloud network experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a must.
- Architect, design, and implement AWS cloud network solutions to support business requirements, including VPCs, subnets, route tables, NAT gateways, transit gateways, and direct connect
- In-depth knowledge of AWS network services (VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, etc.).
- Experience with network flow export (Netflow, IPFIX, sFlow) and analysis
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD, Jenkins, Git)
- Analyzing, gathering, and auditing large-scale and complex data sets to uncover new trends and patterns that influence architecture direction.
- Extensive experience with planning, designing, and executing network hardware and software infrastructure.
- Deep knowledge on network management and monitoring platforms.
- Recommend network improvements, including cost/benefit analysis, to meet changing business requirements.
- Plan large-scale projects through vendor comparison and cost studies.
- Sharp troubleshooting faculties, deductive reasoning, and careful attention to detail.
- Independent and self-directed work ethic when participating in a collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
