IT Release Manager

Our company is growing, and we are looking for an IT Release Manager to join our Technology Delivery team. This role will own the release management lifecycle which includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases across IT various functions
Location: Dallas, Texas | Onsite - Hybrid
Responsibilities:
- Implement and oversee release processes, ensuring smooth transitions of code from development and test environments to production.
- Plan, coordinate major releases for enterprise level features or new products and minor releases for bug fixes, routine schedules (such as patching or upgrades) and minor enhancements
- Oversee code merges, conflict resolution, change management (Github / azure devops) and maintaining a latest standalone main branch all time
- Develop and maintain release schedules aligning with product roadmap, ensuring all changes, updates, and new features are deployed efficiently and on time.
- Manage various environments, including development, test, and production, ensuring they are properly configured and maintained.
- Oversee data refreshes, system upgrades, and application patches, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
- Oversee Azure environments readiness for minor and major releases
- Monitor all environments usage and optimize / recommend resource utilization
- Monito and track release observation and constantly refine and define release process
- Responsible environment swaps during releases with zero or minimal downtime
- Plan and manage team testing schedules across multiple environments, avoiding conflicts, and ensuring optimal resource utilization.
- Establish pre and post deployments steps for releases with rollback steps
- Identify risks and mitigation for technology, development and business teams for each release.
- Track the progress of testing activities against schedules in different test environments, ensuring timely completion and identifying any potential delays.
- Create detailed plans and schedules for the implementation and deployment of new features, bug fixes, and infrastructure changes across all environments.
- Identify and manage dependencies and risks associated with releases, developing mitigation and contingency plans as needed.
- Coordinate releases with various PODs (workstreams) ensuring all parties are aligned and ready for deployment.
- Conduct release readiness assessments, ensuring the release is approved before deployment.
- Lead CAB meetings to discuss and finalize release schedules.
Requirements:
- B. S. in Computer Science, MIS, or related field; or 4-5 years of proven experience in managing release process and environments.
- Familiarity with Azure services (ARM), including App Services, Azure DevOps, and Azure SQL Database.
- Knowledge in Jira, confluence and sharepoint
- Proficient knowledge of software development life cycle
- Good knowledge in branching strategies in complex environments and code review practices such as PRs and CRs
- Have / willing to learn scripting, Azure DevOps or any other CI/CD tools
- Understanding of ITIL change management and release trains
- Familiarity with the Angular framework and .NET back-end deployment best practices
- Experience in coordinating cross-functional teams up to project completion.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize assigned work according to business need and priorities.
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-managed; ability to work well independently and in a global team environment.
- Willingness to support off-hour and weekend deployments when required.
