Job description
Manage all day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including inventory, receiving, picking, packing, movement of goods throughout the warehouse and outgoing shipments to retail customers.
- Oversee, train and develop warehouse team to provide best-in-class service to customers while maintaining accurate inventory and efficient shipping and receiving processes.
- Mass Market warehouse management experience required (Shipping to Walmart, Target, Home Depot, Lowes, etc. preferred)
- Manage shipping and delivery of product to big box retailers, online retailers and flag dealers.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with routing guides and labeling.
- Responsible for shipping accuracy--correct product is on the correct truck
- Ensure the accuracy of all shipping documents by strict adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Meet and exceed customer requirements in regards to vendor scorecard items, including On-Time Delivery, Order Fulfillment Rates, ASN Timeliness & Accuracy.
- Coordinate with freight and LTL providers on shipping and receiving schedules.
- Manage daily plan to exceed expectations for productivity.
- Maintain an organized, clean, safe warehouse environment.
- Ensure all employees are trained and certified on the safe and effective use of all warehouse equipment including pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Assist in hiring, training and evaluating employees to work productively with a high sense of professionalism, urgency and positive customer service attitude.
- Foster a productive, positive working environment with open communication.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- 5 to 7 years of distribution management experience within a high-volume distribution center.
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Experience shipping to big box retailers (e.g. Home Depot, Walmart) including compliance with complex routing guides and labeling requirements.
- Proficient knowledge of inventory and inventory controls.
- Experience with Shipping/Warehouse Management Software implementations and utilization
- Experience managing and motivating a team of employees.
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to multi-task and adjust priorities based on deadlines and objectives
- Strong interpersonal skills, excellent attention to detail, and strong analytical skills.
- Desire and ability to continuously review and improve processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Excel and Word. JD Edwards experience a plus.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Available to work extended hours if necessary during busy season.
