The Labor Relations Specialist is a critical role within our construction division, responsible for managing labor relations and ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements (CBAs). The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in the construction industry and possess a deep understanding of dispute resolution, negotiation, grievance handling, and case management. This role involves advising senior leadership on labor relations strategies, ensuring consistent enforcement of CBAs, and working collaboratively with HR and other stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with construction trade unions.
- Serve as a liaison between company leaders and stakeholders, addressing questions, reviewing policies, and providing information on union-related topics.
- Act as a subject matter expert on contract disputes, employee grievances, and disciplinary procedures.
- Stay informed on relevant policies and practices to effectively resolve complex labor issues.
- Assist in developing strategies to address issues affecting union trade workers.
- Review and interpret contracts to support the dispute resolution process.
Education and Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in labor relations within the construction industry.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in labor relations, Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resource Management, or a related field preferred.
- Experience with CBAs: Demonstrated experience managing multiple employer collective bargaining agreements.
- Grievance and Performance Management: Experience in grievance processes, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
