💼 The Opportunity: Based in Chicago, IL, this remote field service position offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled technician to join a dynamic team. Working from home and being dispatched to service calls, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing essential waste management equipment.
⚡ Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair industrial compactors and balers, including electrical and hydraulic systems
- Perform advanced electrical troubleshooting and PLC programming
- Handle installation and maintenance of limit switches, photo-eye sensors, and solenoids
- Conduct welding repairs and modifications
- Assemble power units in shop during non-field work periods
- Maintain detailed service records and communicate effectively with customers
- Train and mentor junior technicians
- Provide exceptional customer service while explaining technical details to clients
🎯 Required Qualifications:
- Experience in industrial equipment repair, specifically with compactors or similar machinery
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities
- Welding experience
- Valid driver's license
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong communication abilities
- Flexibility for overtime and on-call rotation
- Must be 18+ years of age
Compensation & Schedule:
- Competitive pay range: $24-34 per hour, based on experience
- Standard hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Overtime opportunities available
- Remote work arrangement (home-based with field service)
