Position: Senior DevOps Engineer
Hybrid: 3 days onsite (Detroit, MI)
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between development and operations, ensuring seamless software deployment and system reliability. The ideal candidate will have a strong development background and extensive experience in DevOps, CI/CD, cloud technologies, and managing large-scale production systems.
Top Skills Needed:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps or related fields.
- Strong background in software development and DevOps practices.
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab), cloud platforms, and container orchestration (OpenShift, Docker).
- Experience with JavaScript-related front-end technologies and microservices architecture.
- Excellent multitasking and organizational skills, with a focus on managerial responsibilities.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (Dynatrace, Splunk, and Grafana) and large-scale production environments.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Development and Automation:
- Develop and maintain automation scripts for CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, and other tools.
- Deploy Docker containers using OpenShift, GitLab, and Jenkins.
- Implement and manage orchestration tools like Helm and SOAR.
- System Management:
- Oversee the deployment and management of Java middleware hosted platforms, GitBucket, GitFlow, and other related technologies.
- Manage and optimize Oracle databases and Elasticsearch clusters.
- Ensure the operational stability of production systems with over 10,000 devices, maintaining 24/7 uptime.
- Monitoring and Incident Management:
- Implement and maintain monitoring frameworks such as AppDynamics and Splunk.
- Act as the primary escalation point for production issues and incidents, including Friday night deployments.
- Conduct root cause analysis and resolve system errors promptly.
- Client and Stakeholder Interaction:
- Release software into production and manage client interactions.
- Collaborate closely with key stakeholders, particularly Brian, to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
- Project Management:
- Oversee the migration from BitBucket to GitLab, setting direction and assigning work.
- Utilize Jira for task management and ensure all SOW (Statement of Work) requirements are met.
