EMIT Technologies, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Manufacturing Project Planner & Estimator to join our team. This role will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs and managing both manufacturing orders and purchase order processing. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of metal fabrication processes, pricing structures, and supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates for metal fabrication projects.
- Collaborate closely with the engineering team to understand project scope and requirements.
- Obtain material quotes from vendors and stay updated on vendor pricing for various components.
- Conduct personal reviews of every estimate for accuracy and ensure adherence to quote submittal deadlines as specified by customers.
- Develop and maintain databases for materials, labor, and overhead costs to ensure timely and accurate estimates.
- Create and manage manufacturing orders based on project requirements and customer specifications.
- Utilize the ERP system and sales orders to schedule manufacturing orders efficiently.
- Ensure manufacturing orders are properly imported into the production system and modified as needed.
- Confirm accurate routing, target processing times, and paint color information where required.
- Assist in scheduling material and fabrication with purchasing and production.
- Process sales order from purchase order received from customer
- Track and manage demand levels to ensure materials are available when needed.
- Maintain open communication with salespersons and customers, liaising with project managers, clients, and suppliers to gather information and provide updates on project status.
- Participate in project kickoff meetings to facilitate the hand-off to the project team.
- Prioritize and plan new jobs/projects efficiently, ensuring collaboration with production to understand flow and capacity.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of estimates, orders, and supplier communications.
- Generate reports as needed to track order status and performance.
- Identify and comprehend the specific project's scope of work and assist in the processing of change orders as directed by project managers.
- Work with cross-functional teams to implement process enhancements and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience in estimating within the metal fabrication or manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes and materials is preferred.
- Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
