Job Description:
We are looking for a Senior IT Communications Specialist to drive various IT initiatives and Customer Success & Enablement (CSE) team priorities by preparing change management activities and end user communications through various channels. Serves as host for the monthly community meetings with 100+ technical staff. Supports listening and/or measurement activities for the CSE team.
Assignment location and hours
- On site at the Gilead Business Services Center (GBS) in Raleigh, NC
- Onsite 2-3 days per week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Thursday
- Remote workdays on Monday and Friday
Assignment direction
Direction, guidance and alignment will come from:
- IT CSE Leader based in Raleigh
o Assignment hiring manager, daily/weekly work and time approval
- IT CSE Lead based in Raleigh
o Weekly priorities and long term planning of change management and communications deliverables for key initiatives/projects
Assignment deliverables
- Planning, project management and stakeholder engagement for a range of IT projects and initiatives requiring change management and communications support.
- Plan monthly meetings and coordinate initiatives with key user communities, provide metrics on meeting attendance and drive adoption for optimal engagement.
- Technical content writing and editing supporting the creation of IT-related news articles, company social media posts, website content, video scripts, and other written content items as needed.
- Generate creative and innovative ideas for articles and content that will resonate with target audiences and help achieve goals for IT Communications.
- Implement digital media best practices to facilitate user-focused content strategies while driving interest, awareness, and adoption of IT initiatives across the organization with dispersed end users globally.
- Lead various listening and/or measurement activities for the CSE team with the voice of the customer (employees) annual survey and/or metrics to capture adoption outcomes.
- Apply strong detail-orientation with a focus on delivering high-quality writing pieces that show a keen awareness of content tone, clarity, accessibility, stakeholder needs, and actionable relevance to target audiences.
Assignment qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required, with a major in communications, journalism, business or social sciences preferred.
- 8+ years’ experience required in internal or external communications for large audiences.
- Exceptional writing and copyediting skills, technical writing a plus
- Hands-on content management and content strategy experience
- Fluency with IT, technology, or technical subject matter
- Experience maintaining content calendars and developing strategic content scheduling
- Corporate social media posting experience a plus
- Search engine optimized (SEO) writing experience a plus
