Redstone Commodity Search are working with an international trading house looking to hire a Senior Physical Metal Trader to be based in Houston, Texas (or remote from the US).
Key Responsibilities / Tasks
- Source and sell physical metal commodities.
- Build and nurture customer and supplier relationships whilst also negotiating logistics and financing with suppliers.
- Manage physical and derivative risk positions, including hedging through exchanges such as the LME.
- Attend client meetings and industry events (20-40% travel).
- Develop commercial proposals considering competition and market dynamics and make informed decisions based on this.
- Reports to Commercial Trading Director.
Key Qualifications / Experience
- Minimum 3 years physical trading experience
- Experience with primary non-ferrous metals: copper, zinc, lead, aluminium.
- Must have experience working with the LME.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Must have strong knowledge / understanding of hedging and risk.
- To be located in Houston or work remotely from North America (must have US citizenship).
