About the Job
In this role, the successful candidate will partner with the Nanoparticle Formulation team to perform formulations of Rampart Bio’s proprietary nucleic acid with lipids, polymers or hybrids.
This role requires a high level of organization and attention-to-details to coordinate and execute experiments. Under minimal supervision, this candidate will provide skilled handling raw materials, formulation process, downstream processing, physico-chemical analysis of nucleic acid and lipid/polymer nanoparticles and data analysis. The candidate will be required to prepare organized protocols, electronic notebook notes and reports.
The ideal candidate will have broad soft nanoparticle formulation experience, especially LNPs, liposomes and polymers., with a collaborative spirit, a sense of urgency, and a desire to work in a fast-paced startup environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in design and formulation of lipid-based (LNP, Liposomes) and/or polymer nanoparticles with DNA and mRNA.
- Assist in formulation optimizations such as compositional screens and manufacturing process development activities to develop safe and effective formulations.
- Conduct and interpret physico-chemical characterization of LNP, liposome and polymer nanoparticles via DLS, Zeta potential, TNS, Pico- or Ribogreen, or other specialized assays as needed.
- Assist in developing and documenting procedures, such as formulation protocols, SOPs, Raw materials inventory building.
- Maintain a detailed, accurate, and up-to-date electronic laboratory notebook, controlled substances log, and sample inventory database, as needed.
- Prepare summary reports and present to stakeholders.
- Assist in lab organization and maintenance, sample inventory management, coordination of shipments, and supply ordering.
- Train junior staff as needed.
Qualifications/Requirements
- BS degree and 2-3 years of relevant formulation experience or MSc with 1-2 yrs.
- Ability to work directly with reagents, buffers, different lipids and nucleic acids.
- Skill in formulation, downstream processing of LNPs, liposomes and polymer nanoparticles
- Experience with microfluidic LNP and polymer nanoparticle manufacturing.

Compensation, Benefits & Additional Information
Compensation range: $78,000 - $90,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications. We are proud to provide a robust benefits package for our employees, including:
