Basic Function
The Global Quality Manager leads corporate quality functions to ensure focus on customer needs. This role monitors the overall quality management system, ensures appropriate metrics and targets are established, and ensures management is adequately advised of the health of the quality management system based on business outcomes and customer feedback. Through strong relationships, facts and data, this key leader ensures serves as a change agent to drive continuous improvement through partnerships with business and site resources.
A key aspect of this role is to lead the growth of a customer-focused culture, ensuring customer requirements and expectations have been accurately identified, and ensuring the organization is meeting or exceeding customer expectations. This role partners with business lines to determine changes in customer expectations over time and strategies to meet those evolving expectations. as well as maintaining all chosen external certifications, such as IATF/ISO.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Leading a team of Corporate and Regional Quality managers responsible for:
- Ensuring components of a sound Quality Management System are in place and effective
- Safeguarding compliance with LyondellBasell and Certification Body (IATF/ISO) standards
- Providing leadership in to maintain quality tools, methods and strategies
- Standardization of Global Key Performance Indicators
- Managing internal auditor training and internal and external audit programs
- Managing Certification Body relationships for ISO and IATF (re)certification audits
- Documentation and implementation of the Quality Management System
- Providing analytical insight into health of the QMS
- Leading quality networks to share learnings
- Serving as a liaison with customers in the area of Quality
- Driving Customer Satisfaction Surveys and the improvement response to surveys annually
- Defining and driving supplier qualification and assessments to ensure compliant feedstock supply
- Benchmarking both internally and externally
- Tracking the customer compliant, root cause investigation, and corrective action process
- Developing internal processes necessary to maintain certifications
Min. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering or other related technical field
- Typically, 15 years related or combined manufacturing or business experience
- Experience in designing and leading management systems development and implementation
- Typically, 10 years of experience in a people-leader role
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge and sound understanding of Quality Management Systems, Six Sigma, Statistical Analysis, Quality Tools (FMEA, PPAP, APQP, etc.) and investigative methodologies
- Graduate degree in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, other technical field or MBA
- Certified Quality Engineer or Six Sigma Black Belt
