Job Title: Collections Manager
Job Summary:
The Collections Manager will develop and oversee strategies to improve collections processes, manage a team of collections agents, and ensure key performance indicators (KPIs) are met. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in building and managing collections strategies, optimizing performance, and driving results in a fast-paced fintech environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and optimize collections strategies to maximize recovery and minimize losses. Lead and mentor a team of collections agents, providing guidance, training, and performance management to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor collections performance metrics and KPIs, ensuring the team meets or exceeds established targets.
- Ensure that all collections activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations and company policies.
- Identify opportunities to streamline collections processes, reduce operational costs, and improve efficiency.
- Handle escalated customer issues and provide solutions to ensure positive customer interactions while securing payments.
- Prepare and present collections performance reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Work closely with other departments such as Customer Service, Finance, and Legal to ensure seamless operations and mitigate risks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in collections, with at least 2 years in managerial role.
- Proven experience in developing and managing collections strategies.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing performance and coaching teams.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in collections software and data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
